Raiders Rally Comes Up Short at Framingham
Framingham, MA --Julian Tamburro doubled down the right field line to drive in what proved to be the game-winning run in the
fifth inning as Framingham Post 74 held off a rally from East Side Post 201 to take a 4-3 decision on Thursday evening in a
Massachusetts American Legion Baseball tilt at Bowditch Field.
The two team traded runs in the third. Post 201 claimed the initial lead when T.J. Camoreyt reached on a fielder's choice allowing PJ
Barry to score. Joel Ortiz represented Framingham's tally as he touched home following an East Side miscue.
Post 74 made it a 3-1 game with back-to-back outfield singles by Zach MacGregor and Ortiz in the fourth. Tamburro increased the
hosts lead to 4-1 with his RBI double in the fifth.
East Side then began to chip away with a Matt Kacahadoorian RBI double in the sixth. Jono Crimmin scored on a fielder's choice to
make it a one-run game in the seventh with Barry occupying third. A fly out to center ended the threat and the game.
Erik Lacaire had a 2-for-3 outing as Pat Gallager and Nick Cardillo each saw time on the mound.
MacGregor and Ortiz each batted 2-for-3 at the bottom of the lineup as eight of the nine spots recorded at least one hit on the day.
Brian LeBlanc allowed three runs - two earned - on six hits and fanned four in the complete-game victory.
East Side returns home for a 7pm game under the lights at The Lake against Sturbridge on Friday. Framingham heads to Shrewsbury
on Saturday for a 1pm matinee.
