East Side Nets 20th Victory in Day-Night Doubleheader Split

Worcester, MA --- East Side Post 201 picked up an 18-6 win at Wachusett (Holden Post 42) in five innings on Saturday morning before
falling 10-7 to Milford Post 59 in the nightcap, an eight inning contest at Tivnan Field. The Raiders, who have produced eight 20-win
seasons in nine years, move to 20-9 overall and 17-8 in Zone 4 action. Wachusett slipped to 16-10 while Milford snagged a share of the
regular season title with a 22-4 record.

In the morning contest, all nine lineup spots were responsible for crossing home plate twice.
Joe Consolmagno (2-for-3) drove in five
and
Nate Frederick's fourth home run of the season accounted for a trio RBI. Tim Brutto and Brandon O'Connor each recorded a pair of
RBI while
Jimmy Smith began his day 2-for-3. Brutto also walked three times.

Consolmagno struck out eight his fourth win of the season (4-1) while Erik Lacaire was called upon for an inning of relief work.

After Smith swiped home on a double steal in the top of the first, the hosts put up three runs in the bottom of the frame. Post 201 evened
the game at 3-all on back-to-back fielder's choices. A miscue on a ball put into play by Brutto allowed
Jack Riley to score. Consolmagno
followed by sending the ball up the middle to help plate
Cam Frederick.

Wachusett pushed a runner across in the home half of the second and again in the third.

East Side responded with a seven run outburst in the fourth. Consolmagno and O'Connor connected on consecutive two-RBI singles to
the outfield. Nate Frederick capped the spurt with his three-run blast to left center.

Post 201 added eight more tallies in the fifth. Consolmagno plated Lacaire with a single down the right field line. Later in the frame, the
bases were loaded as Aghdam (hit by pitch), Riley (walk) and Brutto (walk) each delivered an RBI. Four more runs were scored on wild
pitches.

Post 42 took advantage of a miscue to plate a final run before a ground out ended the game.

Jimmy Smith went 4-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in the nightcap to end the day 6-for-7 at the dish in addition to stealing four
of the 15 bases swiped by the Raiders. Frederick added two more RBI with a 2-for-4 game. Aghdam drew three free passes and scored
twice.

Zach Zona and Brutto combined to strike out 11 batters. Lacaire, making his second appearance of the day, was tagged with the loss.

Milford plated the first run of the game on an infield miscue in the top of the first.

East Side staged a five-run uprising in the second. Aghdam scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Nate Frederick to tie the game at 1-1.  
Smith used a run-producing single to bring in Riley. Brutto quickly followed with a two-RBI single through the left side and came home
on a single by Consolmagno.

Post 59 scored three runs in the top of the third to cut East Side's lead to one (5-4).

With two outs in the fourth, Smith tripled down the right field line and scored on a miscue as Post 201 took a 6-4 lead.

Milford and East Side traded runs in the fifth as Nate Frederick was responsible for sending Aghdam home on a double down the left field
line.

A total of five runners were left on base in the scoreless sixth.

Aided by a pair of miscues, Post 59 tied the game at  7-all with two runs in the seventh. The hosts left the bases loaded to send the game
into extra innings.

Milford scored three runs in the top of the eighth for the 10-7 advantage. With two outs and one Smith on base, a pair of infield miscues
extended the game helped East Side loaded the bases for the second straight inning. A strikeout (looking) ended the threat and the
contest.

East Side closes out the regular season with a 7pm intracity showdown with Grafton Hill on Sunday night. It is the final Zone 4 regular
season matchip of 2013. Milford and Wachusett return to action on Monday in the Phil Samko Zone 4 Playoffs. Visit
