East Side Downs Framingham, 3-1

Framingham, MA --- Zach Zona drilled a two-run single in the fourth inning to help push East Side Post 201 past host Framingham
Post 74, 3-1, in an American Legion Zone 4 baseball game on Thursday night at Bowditch Field. The Raiders (6-3) improve to 6-2 in First
13 action while Framingham sports an identical 2-3 record in both standings.

Zona,
Jimmy Smith, Jack Riley and Regan Aghdam each recorded a hit and Nate Frederick drew a pair of walks for Post 201. Aghdam
allowed one run - zero earned - on four hits with three strikeouts in four and a third.
Joe Consolmagno yielded three hits and fanned two
in the balance of the game for East Side.

Greg Hemmer, Matt Cronin and Brian LeBlanc each batted 2-for-3 for the hosts. Keelan Smithers absorbed the setback despite
striking out 10 in the complete-game effort. For the contest, Smithers surrendered three runs on four hits and issued two walks.

The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth as Zona broke up Smithers' no-hit bid with his double through the right side of the
infield. Framingham responded in the home half of the frame as Cronin dropped a run-producing single down the left field line.

Post 74 had a chance to even the game in the fifth beginning with LeBlanc's knock through the right side. He would advance to third
following a sacrifice bunt and a fly out to center field. Consolmagno struck out the next batter to end the threat.

East Side added an insurance tally in the seventh. Aghdam scored on a Riley bunt that found some air and proved to be a difficult play. In
the bottom of the seventh, Framingham had runners on first and second with two outs before a grounder to second sealed the Raider
victory.

Post 201 hosts Northboro tomorrow at 4pm while Framingham entertains Shrewsbury at 7pm.
